SEVERN BEACH RESIDENTS - BEWARE THIEVES ARE ABOUT.

In the last 3 days (21st -24th January, 2008) 2 houses have been broken into and stuff taken.  In one someone got in by threading a pole through the letter box and getting the house keys and car keys! After loading up their ill gotten gains, they then added insult to injury by taking the car!!  In another they got through an unlocked gate and gained access, again taking a load of stuff. The 3rd incident was a car being broken into and Tom-Tom system taken.  It was hidden, but the only safe way is to remove it and take it indoors with you. Please check the security of your homes, and do not leave keys where they can be seen and 'fished' for. 

Daryl and Kirsty need your help in defeating the illegal motor-cyclists. Please report any incidents involving illegal motor cyclists to the Police on 0845 567000 and ask for a log-number.  The more often this is reported, the more notice the police will take notice.  Both Daryl and Kirsty are working very hard to stop this illegal and nuisance problem, but they have to prove this to their bosses. So help them help us and report each and every incident to 0845 567000, and remember to ask for a log number.

Police find a body in the estuary

POLICE investigating a woman’s disappearance have found a body on a beach.

Sharon Crumb, a cancer charity volunteer, went missing from her home in Union Terrace, near Merthyr Tydfil town centre on Sunday.

At 3pm yesterday, detectives told her husband Adrian a body had been discovered on Severn Beach, Avonmouth. He now faces an agonising wait to learn if it is his wife....

In December there were a total of 124 calls to the Police regarding Daryl's beat area. In relation to current public priorities, calls were received as follows:

Western Approaches  4 calls of stray animals. 3 calls of motorcycles on 16/12 and 2 on 27/12. Severn Beach  6 calls re nuisance youths 3/12 2 on 4/12, 12/12 (one arrested) 13/12 and 20/12.  5 calls re motor cycles, 9/12, 22/12, 24/12 (1 stolen bike recovered) and 31/12.

Crime Statistics - Severn Beach.

 18/12 Severnwood Gdns - Robbery. Offenders stole sat nave from cab of commercial vehicle and their vehicle hit the driver as they made off. Ableton Lane - report of fraud/financial mismanagement.Western Approaches - 10/12 possession of an offensive weapon. 15/12 damage to tyres on a car by slashing. School Way - harassment to a resident.
