[SBNW] Fly Tipping - Domestic Rubbish Dumping in Severn Beach
[SBNW] Fly Tipping - Domestic Rubbish Dumping in Severn Beach

Just recently we've had rubbish being dumped in Station Road, Abbott Road and Severn Beach generally.

If see these people dumping report them to the relevant authorities on 0800 807060

• There were 4 crates of empty beer bottles dumped on the level crossing in Station Road. (I picked these up and removed them :-()  Culprits were three foreign women from Gorsecover area. Dumped on Sunday about 17:00.

• Box of used oil cans, container and cushion stool dumped at the entrance to Abbott Road.

Keep an eye out for these people and report them.

Fly tipping Number: 0800 807060

If it's near where you live, it might be worth picking it up and popping in your wheelie bin. Before it becomes a colony of rubbish.

Severn Beach Neighbourhood Watch - Minutes - 16 April 2007
Severn Beach Neighbourhood Watch - Minutes-  16th April 2007

We welcomed new members.

The Neighbourhood Watch was represented at the The Parish Plan Display at Severn Beach School on Saturday 31st March 2007.

Details of immobilization of belongings can be found on web site www.immobilise.com.

Although there were no actual crime figures available, Severn Beach is on the edge of a crime wave from Filton and Patchway which is stretching our police services.

There was trouble over Easter, robberies and several people threatened and one beaten up.

Cars have been stolen from Severnwood Gardens and Wainbridge Crescent and garages have been broken into in Gorse Cover Road.

Residents report that gangs are after motor bikes and 1 to 3 am seems to be the time when we need police presence in the area.

A car was seen being used suspiciously in the early hours in Ableton Lane over the weekend.

There was a police presence over the Easter weekend at the field off of Western Approaches where the motor bikers are congregating. Ring 0845 4567000 and report these anti social, if you know where they live even better. Let the Police know and you can remian anoymous if you wish.

Big lorries are ignoring the weight restriction and travelling from Cribbs Causeway through Easter Compton and Pilning.

Foreign drivers are getting lost in the area looking for Western Approaches. Vehicles are driving too fast using the mini roundabout on Station Road.

There have been reports of mini quad bikes using Church Road and the bridlepath, Gorsecover Road and the seawall. These items to be passed for police attention. Ring 0845 4567000 and report these anti social, if you know where they live even better. Let the Police know and you can remian anoymous if you wish.

Litter and dogs mess on the sea front. Police can issue fines if offenders can be identified.

Horsewatch which is similar to Neighbourhood Watch.  There have been a number of horse thefts in the area recently and it is big business, causing distress to owners.

We are all asked to be continually vigilent and to record any incidents seen and report either to SBNW or direct to the police so that a picture can be built up of what is going on in S.B.

Next meeting Monday 18th June 2007

Case reference: 245_07
Location of incident: Bristol
Date of incident: 29 March 2007
Number of people involved: 1

Details:
Can you help us identify a man who we think may be able to help with our enquiries into a case of passing of a counterfeit note?

The man is described as white, 40-45 years, 5'9"-5'10", large build (large stomach) with short, greying hair balding on top. He wore a blue short sleeved polo shirt and blue jeans.

At approximately 2.40pm on 29 March 2007 a man entered a store in the South Bristol Retail Park and selected a car radio. When attempting to pay the male passed a counterfeit £20 note. The note was suspected to be false by the staff and was kept and passed to the police. The male then left the store.

Anyone with any information regarding this case should contact Crimestoppers immediately.

Property Marking
In view of the many shed and garage break-ins the Community Safety Department are offering a Property Marking Pack. Please telephone 0117 9454127 to obtain one.  Another idea is to chain lawn-mowers, bikes etc., to the wall or even together with a heavy chain and padlock. Help keep your property safe and secure. Lock up your shed and garage and check that the contents are covered by insurance.
