Police have detected some motorcycles and cars that are being fitted with so-called "racing exhaust kits", which might be contravening the law as to producing excessive noise," .

Police say they will be carrying out checks of vehicles,especially motorcycles, that produce excessive noise. Police will impound offending vehicles and have them tested at the Motor Vehicle Test Centre to ascertain whether they comply with the law.

WARNING

Today. Monday 9th October, at 01.30 hours, a car was broken into in Beach Road. Fortunately the alarm went off and neighbours, turning on their lights, scared the people away. The locks were damaged but the car not taken. Please be alert, and altho' car alarms can be a pain, please check if you hear any close by. Please also remove all valuables from your car, especially radio fronts and navigation systems.
