You've won a million pounds!!

Well spring is here, and with it, as well as the new growth, so there is a glut of letters saying you've won millions of pounds on the Spanish Lottery, or some other Lottery. Clairvoyants also tell you if you cross their hands with silver, you will win pounds. Africans tell you they will give you thousands of pounds if you let them transfer money to your account for them to access over here. WHAT HAVE THEY ALL GOT IN COMMON - yes you have guessed it they all want your bank account details. Just like those e-mails supposedly coming from your bank, telling you there is a problem with your account and unless you supply your account details you will not be able to access your account. Its all a big con to rob you blind, and you must NOT under any circumstance reply to the letters or e-mails. Best hand them to either Trading Standards or the Police. Don't forget if it seems too good to be true then its not!

Digital Cowboys

SOME TIMELY ADVICE FROM CONSUMER DIRECT.

Due to the switchover to Digital TV next year, you are warned to avoid digital cowboys. Be on your guard against potential rogue callers, adverts offering aerial installations, unnecessary or over-priced equipment/advice. (Before I changed to Sky, I could get all the digital channels with my in the roof normal aerial). TOP TIPS: Think very carefully before agreeing to have work done by an aerial installer who calls without an appointment, and fails to show identification, Look for an aerial installer carrying the 'digital tick' logo first. If you cannot find one, look for a member of the recognised trade bodies. (CAI or IDSC) Ask family or friend to recommend installers and always get written quotations from at least 2 contractors. Before works starts, agree the price, payment arrangements and start/finishdates. DO NOT PAY FOR WORK UPFRONT.

Car taken

From Beach Road, Severn Beach, on 20th April 2009 a car was stolen, but thankfully later recovered. Please make sure all vehicles are secure, and nothing of value left in them.

Attempted entry.

On 19/04 entry was attempted on a property in GorseCover Road. Plastic was being removed from around the lounge window, but the occupier was disturbed by the noise, and no entry was gained. You can mark/register any items of value at www.immobilise.com.
